Illustrative experience

A planned capability exploring how digital content can respond to people and physical space.

EXPLORETHE EXPERIENCE

Exploring what happens beyond the screen.

Mixed reality asks a different set of creative questions: what happens when an interaction responds to the place around it? The possibilities are compelling, but they come with practical requirements. ehrlilab is exploring this direction with an emphasis on purposeful concepts, honest feasibility and the specialist support needed before a live experience could be delivered.

Spatial interaction concepts

Explore how digital objects or prompts could respond to the room and the participant’s position within it.

Product experiences

Consider how a spatial experience might explain scale, assembly or a product story that benefits from dimensional context.

Event and installation ideas

Investigate interactions designed for a particular venue, with the physical visitor journey included from the outset.

Shared experience research

Assess concepts involving more than one participant without assuming a specific hardware or networking solution is already available.

Hardware-aware design

Consider comfort, setup, input methods and environmental limitations before selecting a technical direction.

Operational planning

Identify supervision, accessibility, physical safety and on-site support requirements as essential parts of a proposed activation.

CREATIVE DIRECTIONS

Imagine the interaction.

Illustrative experience ideas. Selected project films will be added here.

More ways to
build the experience.

Why make
the story
interactive?

01

Find a purpose for spatial interaction

Investigate what the room and the person’s movement could add that a conventional screen cannot.

02

Assess the whole experience

Consider comfort, safety, accessibility and operational support alongside the visual idea.

03

Make readiness explicit

This is a planned capability; technical feasibility and specialist delivery requirements must be established before production commitments.

04

Test the simplest useful idea

Start with a focused spatial question before expanding the concept or committing to a hardware approach.

From idea to experience.

01

Frame the opportunity

Start with the audience need and campaign context. Identify what this format could add that a simpler approach would not.

02

Investigate feasibility

Explore the technical dependencies, skills and delivery requirements. Separate a useful experiment from promises that cannot yet be supported.

03

Define a readiness path

Document the proof of concept, testing and specialist support needed before production. Any commitment would require a separately agreed scope.

A few good questions.

Can you deliver a headset installation now?

Not as an established production offering. Mixed reality is a planned capability. Hardware selection, specialist development, testing and live-operation support would need to be resolved before any delivery commitment.

Is mixed reality the same as a phone lens?

They can share ideas, but the audience journey and technical requirements may be very different. A successful phone effect does not automatically translate into a room-scale or headset experience.

What would a feasibility brief need?

The intended setting, audience, visitor flow, available space, timing and desired interaction are useful starting points. Hardware, accessibility, physical safety and support requirements would then need investigation.
